Make a post
sendstory_create_post writes one post on X. It waits on your dashboard until you approve it, then
goes out on its own, unless you have let that account go automatically.
Ask your agent something like:
Post that we shipped dark mode today, with the screenshot, at 9am tomorrow.
Fields
text |
The words of the post. Leave it out for a post of images alone: a post needs words, images or both |
profile |
The account, as sendstory_profiles spells it. Not needed with one account |
in_reply_to |
The id of a post published through Sendstory on one of your accounts, to make this a reply: an agent replies only to your own posts |
media |
Up to 4 still images, by the refs sendstory_upload_image gave. Animated GIFs can't go to X yet |
publish_at |
When to post, in ISO 8601 UTC, within the next year. Or publish_in_minutes from now. A time already gone is left out, and the answer says so |
idea |
The ref of the idea this post comes from, as sendstory_ideas gave it. The first post that names an idea closes it |
options |
Two to ten ways of writing the post, for you to pick one: each with its own text, its own media or both. Sent in place of text and media |
What comes back
pending and a ref while it waits for you, or published or scheduled when the account goes
automatically. Pending is not an error: the agent tells you and carries on, and never sends the
same post twice.
A post with a link needs an email address on your sendstory account. An account made by signing in with X has none until you add it, and until then a post with a link is turned away and your agent is told to ask you.
At most 10 of your agent's posts wait for you at once. One more is turned away until you approve or refuse some, and the agent is told to send it again then.
Options
Your agent can send a post as options: two to ten versions of it, each with its own words, its own images or both. Ask something like:
Give me three options for a post about the launch, one with the screenshot.
A post with options always waits for you, whatever the account's setting. Its card shows the first one with View all options, which sets them side by side. Pick one and it goes out as the post, now or at its time; the rest are dropped. It counts as one post, or 13 if the one you pick has a link.
Threads
Post the first part, wait for it with sendstory_poll to get its id, then post
the next part with in_reply_to set to that id, and so on.
